David R. Dunn Managing Director
Mr. Dunn has sixteen years of transactional experience, including the last thirteen years in investment banking, and has extensive experience working with media and consumer companies. Mr. Dunn has expertise in publishing, music, broadcasting, new media and online marketplaces and services. Prior to joining Signal Hill, Mr. Dunn held positions including Head of Media Investment Banking at Friedman Billings Ramsey and as a Director in the Media Group at Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown and its predecessor companies.
Mr. Dunn has been involved with and completed 92 transactions in North America and Europe, including 44 public, private equity and convertible issues raising in excess of $7.0 billion; 23 bank and high yield offerings raising more than $12.7 billion and 25 merger and acquisition assignments with an aggregate value in excess of $28.9 billion. Notable clients with whom Mr. Dunn has worked include: American Tower, Aurora Communications, Canpages, Crosstown Songs, Crown Castle, Cumulus Media, Dex Media, Liquidity Services, Michael J. Jackson / Estate of Michael J. Jackson, Peter Millar, Phone Directories Company, Pinnacle Holdings, Primark, SBA Communications, Spectra Site Holdings, R.H Donnelley, Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC, XM Satellite Radio, and Ziplocal. In addition, Mr. Dunn has worked with multiple financial institutions including, ABRY Partners, ABS Capital Partners, Barclays PLC, The Carlyle Group, Goldman Sachs Private Equity, HM Capital, HSBC, Madison Dearborn Partners and Welsh Carson. Prior to entering the field of investment banking, Mr. Dunn was an attorney at Hogan & Hartson LLP and an economist for the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Mr. Dunn holds a BA degree in economics with a minor in studio art from Bucknell University and a JD with high honors from The American University. Mr. Dunn has his Series 7, 63 and 24 and is a member of the Maryland Bar.
